GT Academy for inclusion in the network reality show (Joystiq.com) speed contest

by Mike Schramm 18th December 2010 9: 00 PM not only the best players of Gran Turismo 5 receive a chance to be professional racecar drivers, but they're will be on the teevee, too! The competition, which began this month, turns into a reality on the network speed of next year's show. When finals to start in March 2011, the candidates for the last 32 trips and difficulties will be filmed for the show as they pass through the last competition and the process of formation of race.

It is not mentioned or competitors will have to perform stunts on a deserted island, to live in a House, then under the supervision of 24/7 surveillance cameras or give roses with each other, but we assume just because is a reality show that all these things occur. We also ask candidate nomination to be courageous, charismatic runner who eventually becomes a celebrity D-level.

Gran Turismo 5 blocked with DSS load times install (Joystiq.com)

by David Hinkle December 2010 14 7: 30 P.m. Sick sick and tired of meeting by loading screens between the Gran Turismo 5 races? If you yourself one of these consoles PlayStation 3 classic "fatty" slapping a solid drive (SSD) that puppy and watch load times down - at least according to a user named Phil Beyond3D forums.

Take two PS3s (above "fatty" with the installed game on a Corsair F120 SSD and a Slim with game installed on its standard SATA disk drive), timed how Phil had to first load the game and recovered several different tracks in arcade mode of the game load times. He found significant and consistent time loading decreases. The most important factor seems to be the architecture of the DSS itself – it has no moving parts, so there is no mechanical heads move frenetically access to thousands and thousands of small additional files that make up the installation of Gran Turismo 5.

While DSS appears as it would be preferable to install games to normal storage drives are expensive and do not match the PS3 Slim. Factoring in the affordability of 2.5 "hard drives, accepting of Slim, DSS solution seems." more convenient – Despite impressive that you see above load times
